Wyoming on my mind

Lately I took the time

To turn towards yesterday and take a look

Memories so clear like the written on the pages of a book

Like the heaven reaching mountains

With their snowcaps as a silhouette of time

And the little cabin where the river bends

I can hear the distant sound of prairie winds

And I guess it’s just an omen

‘cause I think I got  Wyoming on my mind.

In a field of virgin snow

The only tracks you saw were the ones you left yourself

And windows clings and winds would blow

I can recall most exactly how it fells

Like the sins who are forgiven

And your soul was mingling with the rock of time

And I still miss Old Cheyenne in the fall

I keep thinking ‘bout  the daddy of them all

And I guess I’m often roaming

Cause I think I got Wyoming on my mind.

As I look back cross the years

I suppose the greatest thrill I‘ve ever known

I was riding cross your frosty fields

To push your herd of white face cattle home

When  those purple twilight shadows fall

Then lights go twinkling on – its supper time

It’s the closest place to heaven that I’ve been

And I think that I‘ll be going back again

So I guess I am going home

Because I think I got Wyoming on my mind.

So I guess I am going home

Because I think I got Wyoming on my mind.
